Description about the Exam :

TNPSC Group 2 is a state-level examination conducted by TNPSC to recruit candidates for civil services in Tamil Nadu.TNPSC conducts exams for two types of Group 2 posts: Interview post and Non-interview post. A total of1500+ vacancieswill be opened for these posts. Notification for the recruitment will be shortly announced by TNPSC.

Eligibility Requirements :

Age limit: 18 to 30 years is the age limit for candidates belonging to general category. There is no upper age limit for candidates belonging to SC/ST/BC/BCM and MBC.

Educational Qualification: A Bachelor’s degree is mandatoryfor most of the posts. However, the educational requirement varies for each post.  All candidates should possess sufficient knowledge of Tamil.

Selection Procedure :

Selection for interview posts will be based on preliminary exam, main exam and interview. Selection for the non-interview post will be based only onthe marks obtained in the preliminary exam and main exam. Preliminary exam is the qualifying exam. A minimum of 90 marks is required to qualify in this exam.

The sections included for the Preliminary exam are General Studies, and Aptitude and Mental Ability. The questions will be framed both in English and Tamil. The preliminary exam is for 300 marks and 200 objective type questions will be asked. 175 questions will be from General Studies and 25 questions from Aptitude and Mental Ability.  The time allotted for the exam is 3 hours.
