Description about the Exam
Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission had invited applications for the direct recruitment of candidates to the posts included in Combined Civil Services –I (CCSE-I Group I Services). The various posts called for under CCSE are Deputy Collector, Deputy Superintendent of Police (Category I), Assistant Commissioner (Commercial Taxes), Deputy Registrar of Cooperative Societies, Assistant Director of Rural Development and District Officer (Fire and Rescue Services). 69 vacancies are to be filled through this exam. The pay scale for these posts is Rs 56100 – 177500/.
Age limit: The minimum age should be 21 years and the maximum age is 32 years as on 01.07.2020. Age relaxation is permitted as per Govt. rules.
Degree from a recognized university is essential. Candidates should have obtained the required qualification by passing in the following order of studies, viz., 10th + HSC or its equivalent + UG Degree.
Recruitment is done in three successive stages: Preliminary examination, Main written examination and an Oral test.
Preliminary exam serves as a screening test to qualify the candidates for the Main written exam. It consists of a single objective type paper, carrying 200 questions – 175 questions from General Studies and 25 questions from Aptitude and Mental Ability. General Studies will be of Degree standard and Aptitude and Mental Abilitywill be of SSLC standard. The total mark is 300. The minimum qualifying mark for selection for SCs, SC (A)s, STs, MBCs/DCs, BC (OBCM)s and BCMs is 90 marks and for others is 120 marks.
